Join us for readings by poets Geneve Chao, Wendy Chin-Tanner, Sarah Mangold, and Jane Wong!

Genève/Geneva Chao is the author of three books of poetry (one of us is wave one of us is shore, a bilingual discours amoureux; Hillary Is Dreaming, a dream journal of the 2016 election; and émigré, a history of emigration and loss in English, French, Guernesais, and Hawaiian pidgin) and several translations. Chao lives in Los Angeles.

 

Wendy Chin-Tanner is the author of the poetry collections “Turn” (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2014), which was a finalist for the Oregon Book Awards, and “Anyone Will Tell You,” (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2019). She is a founding editor at Kin Poetry Journal, poetry editor at The Nervous Breakdown, and co-founder of A Wave Blue World, an independent publishing company for graphic novels. A former academic specializing in sociology and cultural studies, Wendy was born and raised in NYC and educated at Cambridge University, UK. She is the mother of two daughters and the proud daughter of immigrants.

Sarah Mangold is the author of the poetry collections Household Mechanics (New Issues, selected by C. D. Wright), Electrical Theories of Femininity (Black Radish Books) and Giraffes of Devotion (Kore), as well as a slew of chapbooks, most recently Birds I Recall (above/ground). A former NEA fellow, she lives and works near Seattle.

 

Jane Wong‘s poems can be found in Best American Poetry 2015, American Poetry Review, AGNI, Poetry, and others. A Kundiman fellow, she is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from the U.S. Fulbright Program, the Fine Arts Work Center, Hedgebrook, and Bread Loaf. She is the author of Overpour (Action Books, 2016) and is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Western Washington University.
