[2-Part Workshop] List Poems with Rachel Edelman

November 11, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The first session of this workshop will take place Sunday, November 11 and the second will take place on Sunday, November 18. Each class is 10:00 a.m. – noon.

Workshop Description:

Is there anything as mundane, as practical, as deliciously punchy as a list? This two-session class will use the list as a method of integrating everyday observations into our poems. List poems can swing from spare to ornate, from incantatory to utterly rote. We’ll look at examples from Danez Smith, Morgan Parker, Christopher Smart, Ada Limón, Mary Ruefle, and others to understand how lists can link seemingly disparate inquiries in rhythms that travel at the pace of thought.

In addition to quick-write exercises during the class, students will be given an assignment to complete during the week between the two sessions.

The cost of the workshop is $55. Pre-registration required.

Reserve your spot online here.
