Yes indeed, Open Books' own Ms. Deavel will grace the store with a reading
from her brand new chapbook, Box of Little
Spruce, ably published by
LitRag Press. Charged with a mystery and delight, Ms. Deavel's poems are
somewhat surreal, but personal at the same time. The influences of both the
American Objectivists and the Eastern European fabulists of the fifties and
sixties are in evidence, but her poetry conveys joys and sorrows in a way
all her own.
