ROGER FANNING
Mr. Fanning's _Homesick_ (Penguin) is compulsively readable, permeated with a notably kind poetic voice. His poems focus on the domestic, filtered through a wry mind. The reader gets a sense of camaraderie. Mr. Fanning's "The Space Needle" ends, "It prophesied a future of ease, // inertia, channelsurfing, the hollow truth / proclaimed on mall directories: YOU ARE HERE."
